All iPhone XR (2018) and later models support eSIM
The only exceptions are Mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau editions of iPhone — even the latest models in these regions use a dual physical SIM design and do not support eSIM.
Open Settings > Cellular > "Add eSIM" or "Add Cellular Plan". If this option appears, your iPhone definitely supports eSIM.
Test with the native eSIM installation flow
After tapping the button below, the system will open the native eSIM installation screen (no eSIM will actually be installed).
If the screen shows "This eSIM has already been set up on another device" (or a similar "eSIM already in use" message), your Android device supports eSIM and can communicate normally with SM-DP+ servers — feel free to purchase.
This means the device (or its regional version) does not support the eSIM Universal Link flow — likely a Mainland China edition, an outdated Google Play Services version, or hardware without eSIM support.
Please run the check on your phone
The eSIM compatibility check must run on the actual phone where you'll install the eSIM. Please open this page in that phone's browser and tap the check again.

How to Manually Check if Your Phone Supports eSIM
We recommend downloading the Polaris eSIM app first for one-tap automatic detection — the most accurate and fastest way, with results the moment you open it. Manual methods are also listed below for reference.
Method 1: Download the Polaris eSIM app for one-tap automatic detection
This is the most accurate and least troublesome method. When you open the app, it automatically determines support based on your phone's actual model and system eSIM module, showing the result right away on the home and account screens — no digging through settings menus, no looking in the wrong place or reading the wrong field.
Why is this the most accurate? The app reads your device's actual model and system eSIM module automatically, avoiding the mistakes of opening the wrong menu or misreading a field by hand — you know the moment you install and open it.
Method 2: Manually confirm on your phone's "Settings" page
This is the most rigorous manual confirmation method. If the system actually offers an "Add eSIM" option, your device supports eSIM in both hardware and software and is not carrier-locked.
Why is this also reliable? It directly reflects the system's actual capability and automatically accounts for all restrictions — hardware, regional model, software locks, and carrier locks.
Method 3: Dial *#06# to view the EID number
On your phone's dialer, enter *#06#. If an "EID" field (32 digits) appears on screen, the hardware has an eSIM chip.
On iPhone, dialing *#06# usually shows only the IMEI, not the EID. iPhone users should confirm using Method 1 or Method 2 instead.
Some Mainland China Android variants show an EID, yet system software locks still prevent eSIM use.
Apple iPhone eSIM Support Guide
Mainland China Version
All models from Mainland China starting from iPhone XS do not support eSIM and instead feature a dual physical SIM card design. If you need to use eSIM, it is recommended to use iPhone versions from other regions.
Hong Kong & Macau Version
Most flagship models (including standard, Pro, Pro Max, and Plus models from the iPhone 11 to iPhone 15 series) feature a dual physical SIM card design and do not support eSIM.
HK/Macau Exception Models (eSIM Supported)
The following Hong Kong and Macau models feature a single physical SIM + eSIM design and support eSIM functionality: iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), iPhone 12 mini, and iPhone 13 mini.
Other International Versions
International versions of iPhone starting from iPhone XS (2018) all support eSIM functionality. US models from iPhone 14 and newer have already removed the physical SIM card slot, adopting eSIM entirely.
Android eSIM Support Guide
Mainland China Version
The vast majority of Mainland China version Android phones (such as Xiaomi, OPPO, vivo, Huawei, etc.) currently do not support eSIM functionality; even if they have an eSIM chip in the hardware, it is locked by software.
Hong Kong & Macau Version
Compatibility depends on the brand and model. International versions of mainland Chinese brands released in Hong Kong and Macau usually still do not support eSIM; however, versions of international brands like the Google Pixel series and certain Samsung Galaxy flagship models sold in Hong Kong may support eSIM.
Common Android Models Supporting eSIM
Google Pixel 3 and newer models, Samsung Galaxy S20 and newer flagships, Samsung Galaxy Z Fold/Flip series, Sony Xperia (select models), OPPO Find X5 Pro (International version), etc. Actual support may vary by regional version.
